Peter Robert Rose is uniquely qualified to write on the withdrawal of Australians from Vietnam. Based in Nui Dat during 1971, he worked as an engineer captain among the Vietnamese until required in Headquarters Australian Force Vietnam in Saigon to design a major training facility for the Army of the Republic of Vietnam. He returned to Phuoc Tuy Province in 1972 to build that facility after the withdrawal of the 1st Australian Task Force and its logistic support back to Australia. He has tertiary qualifications in engineering, theology, and creative writing. He has been publishing works of non-fiction in a range of professional journals for over thirty years. A noted public speaker and professional trainer, he has worked since leaving the Army with a major Australian university, with an international humanitarian aid organisation and within the Christian church
